12 DAYS Lima - Trujillo - Chiclayo - Kuelap - Cajamarca

Day 01: Arrival to Lima - Peru

On arrival in Lima you will be met by your Peru Marvels Tour Controller , who will transfer you in private transport to your selected hotel. Your guide will be happy to answer any questions you may have at this point and recommend a good restaurant; the remainder of the evening is free to rest and take a gentle stroll around the surrounding area should you wish.

Day 02: Lima - Trujillo

Your breakfast is followed by an introductory talk; you will then be transferred to the airport for your short flight to Trujillo, on arrival you will be transferred to the hotel. This afternoon you will visit to the ruins of Chan Chan and a small interesting museum, after that you will have a drive around the traditional beach of Huanchaco. Your evening will be free to explore the town of Trujillo

Day 03: City Tour plus Huacas of the sun and the Moon | Chiclayo

After breakfast you will be collected for having a City tour before to be transferred to the monumental adobe constructions made by the Mochica culture in the V century, the temples of the sun and the moon. Finishing your tours you will be transferred to the bus station taking your bed seat bus to the city of Chiclayo, ubicated 210 Km north by the Pan-American highway. Arriving to the bus station you will be met and transferred by our representative to your chosen hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax after a long journey.

Day 04: Sipan - Tucume - Salas

After breakfast you will be met by our representative Mr. Herbert who will be your guide and your host. First you will be driven to the town of Lambayeque to visit the museum ‘Tumbas Reales del Senor Sipan'. This museum houses the stunning collection of extraordinary gold, silver and pottery artefacts and offerings recovered from the excavation of the tombs of Sipan. This visit can take two to three hours, after which, you will take lunch in the town of Lambayeque . On our return we will stop in Tucume to visit the site of twenty-six pyramids built of adobe (earth blocks), which also has a small museum. You will then go to the Herbert's private Hacienda near Salas, which is situated 60 kilometres north of the city and enjoy an evening BBQ offering a chance to sample the many different types of fruits to be found in this region. Tonight you will enjoy an excellent company in an appealing home that may be without electricity but has lots of charm.

Day 05: Chiclayo free day

Today you have the chance to enjoy the peaceful of this place or taking an optional tour what can be arranged with Herbert (local payment). The night at the farm is included in your itinerary.

Day 06: Chiclayo - Tingo

After an early breakfast we will join our vehicle to start our incredible journey to the Chachapoyas region, this road takes us through to changing microclimates passing through an area of rare cactus that is today slowly being cleared by farmers giving you a unique opportunity of seeing this area soon to be lost for ever. As we proceed you will pass paddy fields and enter into the high reaches of the Amazon. Upon arrival in the small village of Tingo we will check into the community lodge of the village for the night.

Day 07: Kuelap

This morning we will start early on the road to the ruined fortress of Kuala which will offer you a wonderful view of this remarkable place at its most beautiful. After a very simple but wholesome lunch provided by the local campesino people we will rejoin our vehicle to continue on to the small town of Leimebamba , here you will have a guided tour of the small newly built museum that contains a unique collection of the mummies found at the Lake of the Condor. Here you will be checked into a very simple but pleasant hostel for the night.

Day 08: Road to Cajamarca

Again another day of amazing travel as we take the incredible road through one of the least travelled passes over the Andes , this road is a little scary with some precipitous drops but rest assured that our professional drivers have a lifetime experience of taking. We will pass through the deepest valley in the world crossing the Marañon River , one of the main rivers to flow into the great Amazon River ; we will pass through the small Andean town of Celendin before arriving late evening in Cajamarca. Please note that we will stop for meals where we feel it is best to take the opportunity. On arrival at Cajamarca we will check into the hotel for the night.

Day 09: Otusco - Cumbemayo

Today is the day to explore Cajamarca taking a full day tour , starting with the stone carvers' village where you will have the opportunity of seeing the fine crafted sculptures made from the local stone. This is an excellent opportunity of purchasing a unique souvenir at a very reasonable price. In the afternoon you can take the road out of Cajamarca up out of the valley to visit Cumbe Mayo a place of strange rock formations with an incredible water channel and petrogryphs. In the afternoon you will visit the Bath of the Inca and all of the most important places of this beautiful city. You will have another night in this city.

Day 10: Cajamarca free day

Today you will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of this wonderful Andean city. You can also discuss with your guide about some optional tour.

Day 11: Cajamarca - Lima

This morning you will transfer to the airport where you will take the short one hour-thirty flight back to Lima , arriving you will be transferred to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 12: Depart Lima

Today you will be collected from your hotel for your transfer to the airport.
